To kick things off with Nancy, Richard Tasker will be doing a show and tell on a personal project he's been working on. A budget calculator for personal banking written in C# using the Nancy Framework.
After Richard's little intro, Mat Mcloughlin will continue to talk about Nancy.
For those of you who haven't heard of it, Nancy is a lightweight framework for building HTTP based services. Basically it's an alternative to ASP.NET MVC and WebAPI. In this talk I'm going to give a quick introduction into the framework. I'll start by showing you a basic CRUD application but then will hopefully go onto show you some of the advantages Nancy has. I'll then be finishing up by showing how you can integrate it into a existing MVC or WebAPI application.
Warning: I may also start preaching about the super duper happy path too. Feel free to stop me if this happens.
I'll be doing some live coding so you're more than welcome to bring along your laptop and join in, but its not essential. If you do you'll need a copy of Visual Studio. I'll bring the rest of the things needed on a USB pen as there is no WiFi at the location.
